Michael Perelman joins NightOwl Discovery as Director of Professional Services

Minneapolis, April 1, 2015 – NightOwl Discovery, a global leader in discovery management and analytics announces today the appointment of Michael Perelman as Director of Professional Services, in the global eDiscovery business division. In this role, Michael will lead the digital investigations group for NightOwl and will also lead NightOwl’s expert support services for customers using Guidance EnCase® – Enterprise, eDiscovery, and Cybersecurity, including offering customized training for EnCase® customers on best practices for initiating internal investigations and discovery protocol.

Prior to joining NightOwl Discovery, Michael was Prudential’s Director of High Tech Investigations Unit and has spent the past five years conducting investigations involving theft of intellectual property, privacy breach, online fraud, and internal misconduct. Additionally, he was responsible for the collection and processing of electronically stored information (ESI) in large-scale eDiscovery matters. Before his post at Prudential, Mr. Perelman advised Fortune 500 companies and AM LAW 100 firms on digital forensics and eDiscovery matters, as part of Guidance Software’s Professional Services Division. He is an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City and teaches Master’s-level courses in digital forensics and investigations.

His education includes the Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation; the New York Institute of Forensic Audio Enhancement; Master of Science in Forensic Computing from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice; BBA in Information Systems (Magna Cum Laude) from Baruch College; Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); EnCase® Certified Examiner (EnCE); and EnCase® Certified eDiscovery Professional (EnCEP).
